Mike joined our board when he was Head of Middle School at United World College of Southeast Asia in Singapore and a founding member of Compass Education, a non-for-profit group that helps schools improve the sustainability of their operations. He played an important role in guiding Green Shoots through our first sustainability audit and training our staff in ways to teach and encourage sustainable practice. From UWCSEA, he moved to Central America where he spent two years as Director of Colegio Maya in Guatamala. He and his family then took a 'Year On' between contracts, during which they travelled and explored, giving his two young children a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience true 'experiential learning. He is now Director at the highly respected International School of Frankfurt, where educational innovation and cutting-edge ideas are put into practice. Mike advises GSIS on issues pertaining to our educational programme and sustainable practices.
